CSBS is seeking an experienced male Support Worker to join our team and help support a 49-year-old male residing in Fig Tree Pocket, Brisbane.
About the role
The ideal candidate is a male Support Worker with clear spoken English and, highly experienced supporting people with dementia.
Shifts
Three shifts available per fortnight ongoing which are all passive sleepover shifts
Week 1
Sunday 5.00pm – 10.00pm (10pm – 6am inactive sleepover)
Monday 6.00am – 11.00am
Wednesday 5.00pm – 10.00pm (10pm – 6am inactive sleepover)
Thursday 6.00am – 11.00am
Week 2
Sunday 5.00pm – 10.00pm (10pm – 6am inactive sleepover)
Monday 6.00am – 11.00am
CSBS offers paid training and buddy shifts to help you build your skills and become a valued member of this team.
Depending on where the successful applicant resides, we may be able to offer additional shifts at either Lawnton or Redcliffe.
About you
To be successful in this selection you should have the following experience:
- supporting people with dementia
- experience with restrictive practices
- ability to cook and follow set menus
- supporting people with psychosocial disability, with a focus on providing supports at home, including personal care requirements
- experience understanding and delivering supports within a positive behaviour support framework will be highly considered
A tertiary qualification (minimum Certificate III level knowledge for Disability, and or aged care), is highly desirable.
Relevant probity items required
- a Positive Notice Yellow Card or NDIS Worker Screening Check, or the ability to obtain the latter
- a Positive Notice – Blue Card
- an Open Queensland Driver’s Licence
- a reliable motor vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- a current First Aid & CPR Certificate
- a reliable smartphone with data
- completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety and You’.
