John - Rothwell
An NDIS participant is seeking a person to share his home in the quiet coastal suburb of Rothwell,
John is 61 years old and is looking for a person to co-tenant his home in Rothwell, a coastal suburb in the Moreton Bay Region of southeast Queensland.
John is non-verbal and uses gestures and facial expressions to communicate. He receives mobility assistance and personal care and has a wonderful team of support workers who provide around the clock care and support for him to achieve his goals and live his best life.
John loves being around people and is friendly with a great sense of humour. He enjoys conversations and sensory experiences like touching different textures, or the many sounds around him. He loves his music, anything from Elvis to Creedance, and watching TV in his favourite loungeroom recliner.
As there’s limited space in John’s home to use and store equipment, John’s ideal co-tenant is someone who is a NDIS Participant without a lot of, or large support equipment.
Because John is a calm and friendly person, he wants people around him to be calm and friendly and is seeking a co-tenant that does not have behaviours of concern.
John would like to share his support team with his new co-tenant, so John will select a person who is comfortable with male and female support workers.
John is part of a close-knit family, who live close by to him and who are very involved in his life.
Gentle, kind, and considerate people, male or female can apply, as John and his family seek to find the right person to share his home.
There are plans for John’s home to undergo home modifications to improve wheelchair access to the bathroom.
While the date for the work is to be finalised, it is expected to be completed toward the end of 2022.
Rothwell is located within 20 minutes of the beautiful Redcliffe waterfront, five minutes from Kippa Ring Shopping Centre and 15 minutes from the hub of recreational, health and professional amenities at North Lakes.
The location boasts a range of accessible parks and water-lined walkways nearby.
Bus stops are located along John’s street, and the Kippa Ring train station is 3kms away.
