Mainstream supports are available to all Australians, regardless of disability. These supports can be accessed through government-funded services and community organisations. They often complement NDIS supports and can help you achieve greater independence and community participation. What are mainstream and community supports?
Mainstream supports are services that are available to everyone in the community, regardless of disability. These can include things like public transport, libraries, and parks.
Community supports are specifically designed for people with disabilities and are often provided by non-profit organisations or government agencies. Examples include social groups, respite care, and supported accommodation. CSBS will gladly help you connect with various activities in your community.
What types of community supports are funded by the NDIS?
The NDIS can fund a wide range of community supports, including:

How do I change my NDIS plan to include new community supports?
To add new supports to your NDIS plan, you'll need to have a discussion with your Plan Manager or LAC. They can help you assess your needs, identify suitable providers, and update your plan accordingly.
