This month marks a very special milestone for CSBS and the people who call the Caloundra Community Hub home.

Twelve months ago, a group of families, support workers and community members came together with a shared vision: to preserve the friendships, connections and sense of belonging that had been built over many years and create a place where people could continue to thrive. That vision became the Caloundra Community Hub.
One year later, the Hub has become so much more than a building.
It has become a community.

A place where people gather to learn new skills, explore creative interests, build confidence, develop friendships and enjoy meaningful experiences together. Guided by the Hub’s philosophy to Connect, Create and Thrive, the past year has been filled with laughter, growth, celebration and countless unforgettable moments.
From Bowling Buddies, Dance Fitness and Sailing through to Turning Pages Together, Create Connect and Collaborate, Aqua Beats, Project New Life and the ever-popular WICKED Drama Crew, the Hub has continued to evolve through the ideas, interests and passions of the people who attend.
Over the past year, Hub members have:
- Performed and rehearsed through the WICKED Drama Crew
- Created and sold succulent arrangements through Project New Life
- Participated in community events and expos
- Welcomed local school students for community learning experiences
- Developed friendships, confidence and independence
- Contributed ideas that continue to shape the programs on offer
According to Hub Team Leader Courtney-Jaye DuVergier, the success of the Hub belongs to everyone involved.
“Attendees are happy, engaged and genuinely proud to be part of the community we have created together. That is a credit to every person who has contributed along the way.”

Throughout the year, the Hub has fostered creativity, encouraged people to try new things, provided opportunities to connect with others and supported people to contribute meaningfully to their wider community. Whether through performances, art, fitness, work experience activities or simply sharing a conversation over morning tea, the focus has always remained on people.
The Hub’s first year has also demonstrated what can happen when families, employees and communities work together around a common purpose. What began as a community determined to stay connected has grown into a thriving environment where people are supported to be themselves and pursue what matters most to them.
As the Hub enters its second year, there is plenty to look forward to. New opportunities, new experiences, new friendships and new memories are already taking shape.
For now, though, it’s time to celebrate.
To everyone who has been part of the Caloundra Community Hub journey so far:
THANK YOU!
Here’s to the first incredible year and many more to come.
