COVID-19 update for disability services

Communities play an important and fulfilling part in our lives.

On 2 September 2022, the Chief Health Officer revised the vaccination requirements for all Queensland workers.

This means that CSBS support workers no longer need to be vaccinated to provide supports to people with disability as we do not provide shared disability accommodation services*.

While vaccination is no longer mandatory by law, we know there are Participants who want their workers to be vaccinated. In every case, we will recruit workers to meet a person’s individual needs and preferences.

To minimise the risk of infection, we will continue to maintain cleaning and hygiene standards, wear PPE where required, and follow isolation procedures for workers and Participants who have been exposed to, or diagnosed with, COVID-19.

*Shared disability accommodation services are those that accommodate four or more people in the one location.
